Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente, a Spanish green energy generation company, listed on the prestigious IBEX-35 stock index, has more than 3 GW of installed power in photovoltaic plants in operation or under construction in 6 countries around the world such as Portugal, Germany, Italy, Greece, Uruguay and especially Spain.
With a pipeline of more than 18 GW, which includes photovoltaic plants hybridized with wind, and batteries, Solaria recently inaugurated its Data Centers division, a division that is now gaining great momentum with this important agreement to develop together with the listed Japanese company, DataSection, an Artificial Intelligence Data Center in the industrial facilities that Solaria has already built in Puertollano (Ciudad Real).
DataSection is a Japanese technology company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan, with the Japanese telecom company KDDI as the major shareholder, with the Taiwanese electronic components giant Foxconn and the American company Super Micro Computer as strategic partners, and with the support from NVIDIA’s most advanced GPUs. In this project, DataSection is focusing on securing delivery of GPU/AI Server from its partners and the operation and management of AI data center and AI Cloud.
The agreement provides for the achievement of a supply of up to 200 MW and the use of up to 100,000 m2 of surface in Solaria’s own facilities in Puertollano, which has the so-called “clean rooms”, rooms with a high level of insulation and air quality. that in the past were used for the manufacture of photovoltaic cells and that in the coming months will house the racks of the Súper Micro company and the latest generation micro chips from NVIDIA that will be the brain of the first artificial intelligence data center in the EU .
Solaria takes a new step with this commitment, through its recently created Data Centers division, signing an alliance with the listed Japanese DataSection, which has already launched the project with MoU signed for its first Artificial Intelligence DC in Osaka (Japan), the largest from Asia, and the first AI data center outside the US, which will be built up in the fourth quarter 2024.
Both companies intend to replicate this same objective in the short term in the European Union, with the first being launched at the Solaria industrial headquarters in the Castellano-manchego municipality of Puertollano.
Representing Solaria, General Manager, Darío López and by DataSection, its CEO, Norihiko Ishihara, signed the agreement.
