The company strengthens its internationalisation strategy with one of the largest solar clusters under development in Europe, hybridised with storage and a data centre
Madrid, 28 July 2026 — Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente has obtained a favourable Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) for its Spinazzola project in southern Italy — one of the largest solar developments currently in the pipeline in Europe, with a capacity of up to 600 MW.
This approval adds to the roughly 300 MW the company already has ready to build in the country, including the Garaguso (146 MW) and Palermo I (81 MW) projects, alongside several smaller additional installations.
The Spinazzola project will be hybridised with a further 325 MW of battery energy storage (BESS) and provides for a 400 MW data centre, in keeping with Solaria’s strategy of evolving into a fully integrated energy operator combining renewable generation, storage and digitalisation.
Italy is one of the priority markets in the company’s international expansion plan. This milestone brings to life the strategy presented at its most recent Capital Markets Day, where Solaria announced that it expected to secure environmental approvals for 1 GW in Italy over the coming months.
