SOLARIA ENERGÍA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE, S.A. (“SOLARIA”), (www.solariaenergia.com), the Spanish company founded in 2002 and listed in the Spanish Stock Exchange since 2007 hereby notifies that its Uruguayan PV plant Natelu S.A. has obtained the definitive startup certificate from UTE (Usinas y Trasmisiones Eléctricas – The local utility) confirming that the plant is fully operational.
Natelu S.A., the second solar plant of SOLARIA in Uruguay, located close to the city of Mercedes (Soriano Department) has a 9.5 MW (11.1 MWp) generation capacity. Natelu S.A. and Yarnel S.A., the two plants of SOLARIA in Uruguay have a combined generation capacity of 19 MW (22.7MWp).
Back in September, Natelu S.A. obtained USD 6.1 million financing from ICC and a cofinancing of USD 6.1 million from C2F A Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed with Uruguayan national utility UTE for 30 years.
Natelu S.A. will generate 17.4 GWh of electricity from renewable sources. It will reduce CO2 equivalent emissions by 9,451 tons and the dependence of Uruguay to hydroelectric power sources.
