Solaria, a leading company in the development and generation of photovoltaic solar energy in Southern Europe, published its results for the first half of 2021 today.
Results
During this period, Solaria generated 430 GWh, which represents a 120% increase in production compared to the same period last year. Revenues increased by 73% to 49.5 million euros, EBITDA rose by 89% to 42.5 million euros and net profit grew by 60% to 23.6 million euros. At the end of the first half of the year, Solaria has a healthy balance sheet, with 135.8 million euros in cash, despite having invested 138 million euros in the first half of the year.
The visibility of the fulfillment of the strategic plan improves quarter by quarter, reaching 1,958 MW in operation and under construction. Adding the projects in public exhibition, which amount to more than 2,550 MW, the group already has a very high visibility of more than 4,508 MW, above its target for 2024.
In words of Solaria’s President, Mr. Enrique Díaz-Tejeiro: “The massive installation of photovoltaic solar energy is the only answer to avoid unsustainable energy prices. With a project portfolio of more than 14 GW, Solaria is in an unbeatable position to participate in this objective.”
Sustainable commitments
In terms of its commitment to the environment, Solaria has reduced its CO2 emissions compared to the same period last year, thus exceeding its emissions reduction target of 14% by the end of 2021. Furthermore, 87% of the electricity it consumes comes from renewable sources and 20% of its fleet is hybrid.
In the social area, the number of employees has increased by 69% compared to the first half of 2020 and has met its goal of promoting women this year, reaching 40% in middle management.
In addition, Solaria actively contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and the 2030 Agenda, with a special emphasis on the fight against climate change, respect for the environment and the protection of the environment in which we operate, contributing positively to local communities, based on ethics and good business practices.
